Monochrome Muse
I painted this piece in 9th grade while experimenting with grayscale tones instead of color. Learning to focus on value and contrast taught me how to capture depth and emotion in new ways. This early practice later helped me create Eye Exam, where I applied what I learned about tone to a more refined style.
12 x 9 in. Acrylic paint on canvas.
Explored value, contrast, and tonal balance to emphasize emotion without relying on color.
